How to join the Benchmark Scheme

Manufacturers and product suppliers may become members of the Benchmark Scheme provided that they are members of HHIC or an affiliated Trade Association, supply products within the scope of the Benchmark Scheme and adhere to the Scheme requirements in the Benchmark Scheme Document.

To apply to join the Benchmark Scheme:

HHIC Members:

Download and complete the Application Form and return it to the HHIC as instructed on the form.  Acceptance is subject to a satisfactory audit.

Members of affiliated organisations:

Hot Water Association (HWA)
Domestic Water Treatment Association (DWTA).

If you are a member of either of the above organisations and wish to join the Benchmark Scheme, download and complete the Application Form which is subject to an annual Licence Fee, and return to the HHIC including payment as instructed on the form.  Acceptance is subject to a satisfactory audit.

Installers:

All installers are asked to follow the Scheme by adhering to the Benchmark Code of Practice and completing the Benchmark Checklists whenever they commission an installation.

Benchmark Licensed Installers:

Installers who wish to carry the Benchmark logo can do so provided that they are members of a Competent Persons Scheme (in England and Wales) or recognised Registration Scheme, pay an annual licence fee and sign up to the Installer Scheme Requirements contained in the Benchmark Scheme Document.  Download and complete the Application Form, which is subject to an annual licence fee, and return it to the HHIC including payment as instructed on the form.  Once the application has been verified, a welcome pack will be issued including access to the Benchmark documents and logos accessible from HHIC's installer and consumer website at www.centralheating.co.uk.
