Job Description:
To oversee work carried out on site, by managing the operatives/sub contractors and materials/plant/transport, ensuring quality, safety, customer satisfaction and compliance with NRSWA noticing. Providing necessary leadership and support to the operatives /sub contractors to enable them to undertake their roles effectively.
1. Ensure operatives carry out the works in a safe, effective manner.
2. Ensure that staff are trained and competent.
3. Ensure good communication channels are maintained
4. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant local authority representatives and supply chain.
5. Ensure delivery of mains laying abandonment programme to agreed timescales
6. Carry out the day-to-day supervision of operatives ensuring workflow is issued efficiently.
7. Accurately record all work carried out by operatives on a daily/weekly basis.
8. Ensure all operatives apply Code of Practice 2 and Chapter 8 (Signing and Guarding) and actively promote commitment to Health & Safety.
9. Record all operatives’ timesheets and submit weekly.
10. Ensure all operatives’ competencies are up to date.
11. To liaise with local authorities representatives at site level.
12. To attend and participate in internal management and programming meetings.
13. Keep abreast of company policies and procedures and ensure that they are applied fairly and consistently.
14. Ensure the needs of the customer’s customer are recognised when carrying out the company’s contractual obligations.
15. Ensure the following is adhered to:
• Formal site audits are completed in line with company policy
• Measurement and Record Sheets are fully completed and returned Daily for works completed
• Every job must have a Completion of Reinstatement Form and return to the Depot the following day.
• Incident Report Forms should be returned to the Depot within 3 days.
• Wages – All Time Sheets to be approved signed and sent to HR by Monday pm each week.
• All overtime in line with policy must receive verbal approval by the COE backed up with an Overtime Form the following day.
• Transport/Plant Breakdown Report returned to the Depot at the end of week.
